An interior design project usually consists of several stages and tasks, which may vary depending on the scale and complexity of the project.
Interior Design Work Steps
Consultation and assessment:
This is the first stage, where the designer meets with the client to understand their requirements, preferences, investments, etc. It is also important to personally assess the space, take measurements and photographs.
Concept development
Based on the client's brief, the designer develops a design concept that determines the direction of the project. The concept may include a color scheme, style, lighting design and other aesthetic elements.
Space planning
The designer plans out functional areas based on the needs and lifestyle of the client. This stage may require re-planning walls and areas, and moving windows or doorways.
Choosing materials and finishes
The designer selects suitable materials, finishes, and furniture to create a cohesive and harmonious design - from flooring and wall coverings, lighting, furniture, accessories, and more.
3D visualization
After the concept is ready, finishing materials, and furniture are selected, the designer creates a 3D visualization to give the client a realistic image of how the space will look after the transformation.
Development of construction drawings
(plan of floor coverings, lighting, switches, ceiling plan, sockets, plumbing, wall layouts with the required amount of materials).
